I can see the moon, and sometimes I wonder in Box, 2026
Found cardboard box, HD video, sound. 22 x 16 x 9.5”

Children were often left in boxes in public places, where anonymity and visibility existed in tension: the child was abandoned yet positioned to be found. Using a cardboard box found near the residency, the box proposes the child as a commodity, echoing questions of value, exchange, and personhood. The box becomes both container and witness, carrying the tensions between personhood and objectification. In a visual letter to my unknown birth mother, I layer personal archival footage from the nineties with fragments of intercountry adoption history. I use the past to reach towards an improbable future: one in which reunion is possible.
